| In
July Shizue Ogawa published her second collection of Japanese-English. |
| poems,
Flames ─ A Soul at Play (II), and the companion CD of readings. |
|
| In
September she was invited to the International Biennial of Poetry 2005 which |
| was
held in Liège, Belgium. She received a grant from the Japan Foundation |
| and
attended the assembly with Ms. Donna Tamaki. Chosen as one poet among |
| nine
who read poems in the opening ceremony in the assembly. Read “ Flames |
| ─
A Soul at Play ” in Japanese. As one event of the 2005 EU-Japan Year of |
| People-to-People Exchanges, a public reading of her poems in Japanese and |
| English
also was held at the Japanese Embassy in Brussels. |

| 招待されました。国際交流基金の援助を得て、玉木氏とともに渡欧。 大会の開会式で |
| 自作の詩を母国語で読む、９か国の１か国に選出されました。「炎
― 遊ぶ魂」を朗読。 |
| 同月 在ベルギー日本大使館にて、「２００５年 日・ＥＵ市民交流年」の行事の一環 |
| として、日本語と英語による「詩人 小川静枝の朗読会」を開催しました。 |
